How Does Jordan Pass Work?

The Jordan Pass offers entry to more than 40 top attractions and is valid for a period of two weeks once initially scanned at a site or destination in Jordan. If unused, the Jordan Pass will remain valid for a duration of 12 months from the date of purchase.

1. Choose Your Pass

Choosing which Jordan Pass to buy prior to your arrival will really depend on the amount of time you’re planning on spending in Jordan and your itinerary.

There are three different options when it comes to Jordan Passes and the only true difference between the three is the amount of days that you’d like to spend exploring Petra.

2. Receive Your Pass

Once you purchase the Jordan Pass, you will receive an email from info@jordanpass.jo with a PDF attachment of your Jordan Pass. The email will look like this:

3. Show Your Pass

That’s it! All you have to do now is show your digital Jordan Pass QR code to the staff at the entrance of any of the included attractions listed below and you will enter for free.

Please note that we recommend printing a physical copy of your Jordan Pass and always keeping it on you as a backup in case.

How many times can I visit the same attraction with the Jordan Pass?

You can visit each attraction listed above one time. Petra is the only exception to the list as it can be visited 1, 2, or 3 consecutive days. The Jordan Explorer is the 2-day pass and the Jordan Expert is the 3-day pass.

Does the Jordan Pass serve as a visa?

No, the Jordan Pass is not a visa. However, if you purchase a Jordan Pass prior to your arrival, you can get your visa fees waived as long as you’re staying in Jordan for more than three consecutive nights. Learn more about the visa requirements for Jordan.

When does the Jordan Pass expire?

The Jordan Pass remains valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. However, it automatically expires two weeks after the first scan at a tourist attraction. After this period, you won’t be able to use the pass for entry into the included tourist attractions

Are there any fees for extending the visa if I have a Jordan Pass?

If your stay exceeds the one-month validity of the Jordan Pass, you have two options for visa extension. You can pay 1.5 JD per day for the extra days at the airport, or you can opt for a three-month extension by paying 40 JD at the police station.

Where can I buy the Jordan Pass?

You can purchase the Jordan Pass directly through the official government website.

Can I buy Jordan Pass at the airport?

No, you cannot buy the Jordan Pass at the airport upon arrival. You must purchase your Jordan Pass in advance of your arrival to Jordan.

When should I buy the Jordan Pass?

You should buy the pass before arriving in Jordan, especially if you plan to stay for three consecutive nights, as it helps waive the visa fees (40 JD).

Does the Jordan Pass include Petra by Night?

Unfortunately, Jordan Pass does not include entry to the Petra by Night show. Tickets can be purchased for 17 JD at the Petra Visitor Center, via a local tour agent or via concierge at your hotel. Children under 10 years of age can enter free of charge.
